Job Overview

We are seeking a PARKADE CUSTODIAN to join our team at the MetroPark Parking Facility in downtown Halifax. Reporting to the Parkade Manager and working also with the Property Manager, this role entails daily involvement with the operation of the facility – including customer relations, equipment monitoring, snow and ice control and building maintenance.

The successful candidate will be confident, have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude that compliments other members of our team. Experience with various property management tools and equipment will also be an asset.

Responsibilities

- Greet and assist customers with parking inquiries, ensuring a positive and professional experience
- Monitor the parkade to ensure safety protocols are followed and address any security concerns promptly
- Perform routine inspections of mechanical systems, lighting, signage, and structural elements to identify maintenance needs




- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and mechanical knowledge
- Operate gate controls
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (JMS) software to schedule, track, and document maintenance tasks
- Respond swiftly to customers and facility issues or emergencies, coordinating repairs and communicating with relevant personnel or emergency services as needed

Skills

- Proven customer service experience in facilities maintenance
- Experience with software
- Excellent customer service skills with clear communication in English
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance procedures including safety standards

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
