About the Job:

The Pattern Specialist is responsible for converting customer-provided patterns, specifications, and drawings into accurate production-ready CAD files and paper patterns.

This role supports CNC foam cutting and fiber cutting operations by ensuring all patterns meet customer requirements, material specifications, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Review customer-supplied patterns, drawings, samples, specifications, and dimensional requirements.
- Clarify incomplete, unclear, or conflicting pattern information with the appropriate internal team members before production.
- Draft, modify, and maintain accurate pattern files using AutoCAD.
- Convert customer patterns into CNC-ready cutting files for foam production.
- Confirm pattern dimensions, tolerances, cut lines, notches, labels, grain direction, and other production requirements.
- Provide finalized CNC files, drawings, and instructions to CNC Operators for machine cutting.
- Create accurate full-size paper patterns for Fiber Cutters based on approved customer patterns and CAD files.
- Label paper patterns clearly with customer name, part number, revision level, material requirements, quantity requirements, and orientation instructions.
- Conduct quality checks on drafted files and paper patterns to ensure accuracy before release to production.
- Compare first-cut foam pieces or fiber components to the approved pattern and customer specifications, making adjustments as required.
- Maintain an organized pattern library, including electronic CAD files, customer revisions, paper patterns, and supporting documentation.




- Track pattern revisions and ensure only current, approved versions are released for production.
- Work closely with the Account Representative, CNC Operators, Fiber Cutters and Plant Leadership to support customer requirements and production schedules.
- Assist with troubleshooting CNC cutting or fiber cutting concerns related to pattern accuracy, layout, material yield, or production feasibility.
- Identify opportunities to improve nesting, material utilization, pattern accuracy, and production efficiency.
- Follow all company health and safety requirements, quality procedures, housekeeping standards, and applicable work instructions.
- Protect confidential customer drawings, specifications, and proprietary product information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

- Diploma, certificate, or relevant experience in drafting, CAD design, pattern making, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in AutoCAD, including creating and revising 2D production drawings.
- Experience working with CNC cutting equipment, foam fabrication, fiber processing, upholstery, textile cutting, or a similar manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Ability to interpret customer drawings, measurements, specifications, and technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and revision control.
- Ability to use measuring tools and verify dimensions accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple customer patterns and production priorities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production teams.
- Problem-solving skills and a practical understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work independently while meeting production timelines and quality requirements.

Pay: $1.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
