This includes providing logistical, cultural, and caregiving support to ensure children's safety and well-being during times of transition, crisis, or service engagement.Grounded in Omushkego values of collective caregiving and respect for children's spirits, this role contributes to a culturally safe service setting where practical care and dignity go hand in hand.Core Responsibilities1. Child and Family SupportProvide direct care and supervision to children and youth receiving services, including support during appointments, visits, and transitionsAssist with practical tasks such as meal preparation, daily routines, hygiene support, and emotional reassuranceMonitor safety, comfort, and cultural connections during agency interactions2. Transportation and Logistical SupportProvide safe and timely transportation of children, youth, caregivers, and family members to and from appointments, services, or placementsAccompany staff to community visits, intake meetings, or family circles to support smooth coordinationEnsure safety procedures are followed during all transportation and contact settings3. Supplies and Documentation SupportSupport the distribution and inventory of clothing, personal items, cultural kits, and supplies for children in careAssist with preparing materials for visits, intakes,



or team eventsMaintain logs and brief reports of support activities, using agency forms or systems4. Team and Agency ParticipationParticipate in team meetings, training, and seasonal gatheringsProvide flexible support across Child Welfare programs based on need and assignmentAssist with cultural and land-based events as directed by the teamRequired Qualifications and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience providing care or support to children, youth, or vulnerable individuals in a community settingReliable, flexible, and respectful with strong interpersonal and cultural sensitivity skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality, clear documentation, and good judgment Equivalency will be considered.
