Consult Mechanical is a Concord-based mechanical contractor serving residential, commercial, and institutional clients across the GTA. Since 2002 we've delivered plumbing, hydronic heating, and mechanical work for custom homes, multi-unit buildings, and property-managed sites. Our work includes high-efficiency boilers, in-floor radiant heating, snow-melt systems, domestic hot water, and full mechanical rooms. We focus on clean installs, proper commissioning, and reliable follow-through.

We're looking for a Lead Plumber / Hydronics Technician who takes pride in neat piping and well-built mechanical rooms, communicates clearly with homeowners and site contacts, and can own jobs from rough-in through start-up while guiding the people working alongside them.

What you'll do

- Lead plumbing and hydronic jobs, direct helpers and apprentices on site, and make sure the work meets our standards
- Install, service, and replace high-efficiency and combi boilers, indirect tanks, and water heaters
- Build and pipe boiler rooms and mechanical rooms, including primary/secondary piping, hydraulic separators, circulators, zone valves, mixing valves, expansion tanks, and air and dirt separators
- Install in-floor radiant heating, including tube layout, manifolds, zoning, and controls
- Install and commission snow-melt systems, including manifolds, glycol loops, heat exchangers, and slab and outdoor sensors
- Rough in and finish residential plumbing, including water supply, drain, waste, and vent piping and fixture installs
- Install domestic hot water systems, including recirculation, and pool and spa heat exchangers
- Work with copper, PEX, black iron, PVC, and ABS, and pressure-test all systems
- Fill, purge, flush, and treat hydronic systems, and set up glycol and freeze protection
- Install gas piping and vent gas-fired boilers and water heaters,



including plastic venting to ULC S636
- Wire and troubleshoot boiler and hydronic controls, including pump and zone controllers, thermostats, and outdoor reset controls
- Commission systems by checking flows, temperatures, pressures, controls, and safeties, and troubleshoot problems like poor heat delivery, air, and noise
- Work from drawings, manufacturer manuals, and job scopes, and keep materials and job documentation organized
- Keep job sites clean and safe, and represent Consult Mechanical professionally with customers

Nice to have
- Experience with Viessmann, IBC, Navien, or similar boilers
- Experience with Tekmar or similar hydronic controls
- Experience laying out and sizing radiant and snow-melt loops

- Backflow prevention certification

What we're looking for
- 306A Plumber or 307A Steamfitter certificate of qualification
- G2 gas licence or higher
- Several years of hands-on plumbing and hydronic experience, with residential and custom-home work preferred
- Strong piping skills and neat, organized mechanical room layouts
- Solid understanding of hydronic systems, including flow rates, pressure drop, pump sizing, and air removal
- Line-voltage and low-voltage controls fundamentals
- Experience leading a job or crew, or readiness to step into that role
- Valid driver's licence with a clean record
- Clear communicator who can explain work to homeowners and flag issues early
