Plumber / Heating Technician – Barrie Area

DBS Mechanical is looking for an experienced Plumber / Heating Technician to join our growing service team.

This position will primarily service the Barrie and Simcoe County area, with a general service territory running roughly from Newmarket to Orillia.

We are looking for a reliable, experienced technician who is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting mechanical systems, completing repairs, and dealing professionally with customers, building staff, and property managers.

Our work is primarily commercial, condominium, and multi-residential service and repair, with a solid focus on plumbing, boilers, hydronic heating, and domestic hot water systems.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair plumbing and heating systems
- Troubleshoot hydronic heating and domestic hot water systems
- Service and repair commercial boilers and water heaters
- Service pumps, valves, PRVs, expansion tanks, air vents, and related mechanical equipment
- Complete plumbing repairs including piping, leaks, fixtures, drains, and mechanical room equipment
- Perform boiler cleanings, inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Troubleshoot no-heat and no-hot-water service calls
- Replace pumps, motors, valves, controls, ignitors, flame sensors, and other mechanical components
- Complete preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend required repairs
- Communicate clearly with customers, property managers, building staff, and our service department
- Complete detailed service reports documenting work performed and equipment condition
- Maintain a clean and professional work area




- Participate in emergency and on-call service when required

Qualifications
- Previous plumbing and/or heating service experience required
- Ontario Plumbing Licence preferred
- G2 or G1 Gas Technician Licence is a strong asset
- Strong experience with boilers, hydronic heating, and domestic hot water systems
- Commercial, condominium, or multi-residential service experience preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Professional and comfortable dealing directly with customers and property managers
- Reliable, organized, and able to complete accurate service documentation

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45.00-55.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with on-call availability as required

Service Area: Barrie and surrounding area, roughly New Market to Orillia
