Position:

We are seeking a Poker Analyst to join our team in Toronto, Canada. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where data drives decisions across the business. This role requires deep knowledge of poker: how the game is played, how cash games and tournaments are structured, and how players think at a serious level. Knowing the rules isn't enough. Your poker knowledge is what will let you analyze our data properly, interpret what's behind the numbers and, over time, advise the business on what to do next.

This role is ideal for someone who is curious, moves fast and likes figuring out the story behind the numbers. You'll build and maintain reports, keep improving them and bring insights forward before anyone has to ask.

Candidates who cannot demonstrate strong poker knowledge will not be considered, regardless of other qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Monitor business and game performance across the GGPoker network, including traffic, tournaments, cash games and promotions. Spot trends and shifts early and bring clear findings to stakeholders
- Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and recurring reports that non-technical stakeholders can understand at a glance
- Analyze product, tournament and promotion performance to understand what's working, what isn't and why
- Write SQL queries against our Snowflake data warehouse to pull and prepare data for reporting
- Support tracking of core business metrics including LTV, churn, retention and regional performance
- Track performance against forecasts and flag deviations to the team
- Turn findings into clear, concise summaries for managers and leadership
- Help evaluate A/B tests on product and promotional changes

Requirements:

- Strong understanding of poker, including cash games, tournaments, game formats, structures and how online poker rooms operate
- Working SQL skills and comfort writing queries on your own
- Experience with Tableau or another BI tool (Power BI, Looker, etc.)
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills




- 1-2 years of experience in a data or analytics role
- Fast learner who picks things up quickly and figures things out before escalating
- Curious about the data. You ask why, not only what
- Detail-oriented. You QA your own work before it goes out
- Able to explain a finding to a non-technical person in a couple of sentences

Assets:

- Experience in iGaming, fintech or another high-volume data environment
- Exposure to Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse
- Familiarity with KPI frameworks in gaming, subscription or retention businesses
- Exposure to A/B testing or forecasting work
- Startup or high-growth experience
