Position Summary The Production Associate – Zebra Shade Production is responsible for assembling Zebra Shades accurately, efficiently, and to Sun Glow’s quality standards.

This role involves preparing materials, cutting and assembling components, working with Zebra fabrics, installing operating systems and hardware, and completing each shade according to the production order. The Production Associate is expected to maintain consistent quality, meet production targets, and identify any issues before the product moves to final quality control.

This is a hands-on manufacturing role that requires strong attention to detail, good manual dexterity, and the ability to follow production specifications carefully.

Key Responsibilities

- Manufacture and assemble Zebra Shades according to production orders and company specifications.
- Review work orders before production to confirm dimensions, fabric, colour, hardware, operating system, control side, and other required options.
- Measure and prepare Zebra shade fabric accurately.
- Cut fabric and components to the required dimensions using approved equipment and procedures.
- Align Zebra fabric properly to ensure consistent stripe alignment and finished appearance.
- Assemble headrails, bottom bars, tubes, cassettes, fascia, brackets, and other shade components.
- Install manual, chain-operated, cordless, or motorized operating systems as required.
- Ensure all components are correctly fitted, aligned, and secured.
- Inspect fabric and components for defects, damage, stains, scratches, or other quality issues during production.
- Check completed shades for proper appearance, dimensions, alignment, and basic operation before sending them to final quality control.
- Identify and report production issues, material defects, or incorrect components to the Production Supervisor.




- Follow established production methods, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production records where required.
- Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Use production tools and equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist with other production tasks as required based on workload and department needs.

Quality Expectations The Production Associate is responsible for ensuring that Zebra Shades are produced with consistent workmanship and appearance.

- Straight and even fabric
- Proper bottom bar alignment

- Proper cassette or fascia installation

- No scratches, stains, dents, or visible damage
- Clean finished product
- Correct labeling and order identification

Any product that does not meet Sun Glow’s standards should be corrected or reported before proceeding to the next stage of production.

Qualifications

- Previous manufacturing, assembly, window covering, or production experience is an asset.
- Experience with Zebra Shades or roller shade manufacturing is an asset but not required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately read measurements and production orders.




- Comfortable using hand tools and production equipment.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized processes.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Willingness to learn different products, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Basic computer or barcode scanning skills are an asset.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to safely handle long or oversized window covering products.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
