Summary:

The Production Manager, Assembly, reporting directly to the Managing Director, is responsible for leading the assembly and cable harnessing operations. A primary focus of this role is the continuous development, efficiency increase, and process optimization of the assembly department to meet the exacting quality standards of our high-tech customer base.

This position requires a robust hands-on mentality, a high degree of flexibility in decision-making, and an openness to learning and implementing new technical solutions. The successful candidate will develop strategic performance metrics consistent with company goals, and ensure team effectiveness through active leadership, coaching, and strategic talent management.

Key responsibilities include:

· Establish and control production workflows to satisfy daily, monthly, and yearly schedules, ensuring all customer and quality specifications are met.

· Manage and control department operating costs, resource allocation, and minimize space usage.

· Oversee compliance with company policies and standards for quality, safety, waste reduction, and complete, on-time delivery.

· Actively drive efficiency increases and process optimizations tailored to complex, specialized cable assemblies.

· Develop, analyze,



and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, scrap, and downtime to identify and execute improvement plans.

· Direct and facilitate ongoing continuous improvement processes by applying LEAN methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, VSM) for operational excellence.

· Supervise and motivate the assembly team to achieve and exceed their goals, providing a clear framework while fostering a culture of flexibility and independent decision-making.

· Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training, and regular performance evaluations.

· Ensure that all employees strictly follow health & safety policies, regulations, and ethical standards.

· Demonstrate a hands-on approach and an open, eager mindset to tackle diverse new technical projects and customized interconnect solutions.

· Work closely with R&D; and Engineering to ensure "design for manufacturability" principles are successfully applied to new prototypes and processes.

· Revise, update, and generate required documentation in support of manufacturing products, including BOMs, manufacturing instructions, and procedures.

Qualifications & Competencies

· Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Business Administration (with a focus on Production/Operations Management), Supply Chain Management, or a related field.





· Strong business acumen combined with a solid technical understanding of complex manufacturing processes.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in an electronic assembly or cable manufacturing production management role.

· Hands-on mentality combined with a strong willingness to learn, adapt, and drive new technological solutions.

· Sound analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.

· Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive deadlines simultaneously.

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills to build strong interdepartmental relationships.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000
