Hyland Precast & Hyland Ready Mix specializes in precast and ready mix operations across the Comox Valley and North Vancouver Island. Our group of companies include Redi-Rock Retaining Walls BC, Coast Hydro Excavating, Coast Sand & Gravel and T&R; Contracting (Powell River).

Position: Ready Mix Driver Full-Time

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Operate and maintain a Ready-Mix truck
- Work alongside labourers – 90% of your day is outside of the truck, boots on the ground
- Work with customers to provide quality service based on specific job needs
- Complete minor maintenance and checks on equipment
- Ensure safety for all team members and property
- Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervisor
- Leave the job site in better condition that when we got there. Clean, safe and job well done.
- Haul hoses, PPE and tools to where the work is being done.
- Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs.
- Ability to work occasional overtime and weekends.

Role Specifications:

- 2+ years’ experience operating a Ready-Mix truck required.
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license and experience operating a manual transmission (Class 1 preferred).
- Willingness to work additional overtime shifts outside of regular schedule.
- Clean and current driver's abstract.
- Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
- Having First Aid, would be a significant asset

- Perform physically demanding work (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis).
- Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to communicate in an efficient manner remotely.

Conditions of Employment

- Successful candidate must sign employment letter of offer.
- Proof of Valid class 1 or Class 3 and drivers abstract.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Currently live on Vancouver Island and can consistently arrive at Hyland for early shift starts.
