Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Technician to join our research team. The selected candidate will handle routine validation and tissue culture work, including protein production in mammalian systems. This position provides candidates with an opportunity to contribute to and engage in exciting drug discover and research.

Starting salary will be based upon level and years of experience.

Responsibilites

- Work with mammalian tissue cultures (tumor cell lines and primary cells) to perform routine maintenance, protein production, and cell based assays. Assist with departmental maintenance including but not limited to preparation of solutions and ordering of reagents/lab supplies as required.
- Experimental Design & Execution: Design and perform cell based assays to validate molecular mechanisms.
- Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analyze experimental results and interpret data to draw meaningful biological conclusions and identify next experimental steps. Prepare presentations and summarize research findings based on analyzed data.
- Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.



Present findings in internal meetings and contribute to scientific discussions. Support cross-functional projects, such as target discovery or therapeutic development.
- Laboratory Management: Maintain accurate lab notebooks and electronic data records. Ensure compliance with biosafety and quality control standards. Manage lab reagents, instruments, and equipment maintenance.
- Research & Development (R&D;): Assist in design and development of new molecular biology procedures, assays, or therapeutics. Stay up to date with current literature and emerging molecular biology technologies as required

Qualifications:

Shortlisted candidates will have the following experience:

- Recent university graduate with a BSc or MSc in Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- Solid background in molecular and cellular techniques, data analysis, and experimental troubleshooting.
- Previous lab experience in cell culture techniques (academic or industry) is an asset (1 year or longer preferred)
- Experience with experimental planning and project management is desirable
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must demonstrate critical thinking and thorough understanding of laboratory techniques
- Must be highly motivated with the ability to learn and grow in the company
- Leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise co-op students is desirable
