Residential Cleaner and Backup Program Support

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

NHPSG Society is a non-profit organization funded by Community Living BC located in East Maple Ridge. We are looking for a cleaner to help maintain a welcoming residence for a young adult with autism and complex support needs.

Cleaning is the primary responsibility. The position also includes occasional backup support during staff breaks and when the team needs an additional person. The successful applicant will follow the Program Manager’s direction and the client’s support plans.

Responsibilities

- Clean and sanitize the residence, including bathrooms, kitchen, floors, surfaces and shared spaces.
- Complete laundry and routine household cleaning tasks.
- Clean and sanitize the vehicle used for outings.
- Help with light gardening and outdoor upkeep.
- Provide backup support during staff breaks and when an additional team member is needed.
- Accompany the client on walks and outings as directed. This may include assisting with a wheelchair and handling the client’s autism assistance dog after instruction.

Qualifications




- Experience with residential or professional cleaning and the safe use of cleaning products.
- Experience working with autistic individuals is required; experience with other neurodivergent individuals is also welcome.
- Ability to follow an individual support plan, take direction from the Program Manager and work as part of a team.
- Patience, sound judgment and respect for the client’s privacy.
- Comfort with dogs and ability to perform the physical tasks of the position.
- Availability for the scheduled 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. shift.
- Willingness to complete a criminal record check and privacy training.

First aid training and NVCI is an asset. Training specific to the client’s support plans will be provided. Pay: $25.00-$26.00 per hour
