About Dialogical

Dialogical Consulting is a small practice that works exclusively with Indigenous nations and organizations on strategy, facilitation, research, and implementation. The work is guided by the Nations and organizations we serve and grounded in OCAP principles.

The role

This is contract work, project by project, and it runs on two tracks. Some contracts will be building Dialogical itself: systems, processes, tools, and offerings. That work directly creates the next round of client contracts, so the people who help build the practice are first in line for the work it generates.

The client work is varied: a research scan one week, a facilitation session the next, a workplan, a funding proposal, a data problem, a board briefing. It's often messy. Priorities shift, information is incomplete, and nobody hands you a playbook. I'm looking for people who don't just tolerate that but find the value in it, and create value through it.

What sets this apart is how the work gets done. I want people who already use the current generation of AI and digital tools as a normal part of their day. People who get to a solid first draft fast, then apply judgment to make it right. And who understand that when the data belongs to a community, how you use those tools matters as much as what they produce.

This isn't 9 to 5, and it isn't steady. Some weeks are quiet enough to make you wonder.



Then a breakthrough lands and the work needs to scale fast. If you need predictable hours and income, this won't suit you. If you can ride the lulls and step up when things break open, it might be exactly what you're looking for.

You'll likely be a fit if you

- Thrive when things are unclear and turn that into something useful
- Move comfortably between research, writing, facilitation, analysis, and detailed change/project work
- Use current AI tools fluently and can explain your approach
- Recognize that most of the times the problems worth solving persist because people see the problem poorly, often overlooking humanistic factors or optimizing the work or organization for the wrong thing
- Would rather build something than wait for instructions
- Can handle irregular income and workload if it means opportunities to ramp up quickly when great opportunities hit
- Listen more than you talk, and understand the community leads
- Have experience with or in Indigenous communities and organizations

Contract, remote, Canada. Rates set by project. Indigenous applicants especially encouraged.
