Step into KPU's Pride Peers program as a Peer Leader, offering invaluable support to 2SLGBTQIA+ students in a confidential and safe space. Engage in awareness initiatives and mentorship efforts on campus.
This role is dedicated to current KPU students and falls under the Office of Equity and Inclusive Communities. You will be responsible for facilitating peer support, resource navigation, and promoting social justice initiatives within the student community. Your role aims to foster a deeper understanding of sexual and gender diversity at the university.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide scheduled peer support in Pride spaces
• Assist in program administration and evaluation
• Offer resource navigation to students
• Attend professional development training
• Participate in outreach activities promoting the program
Requirements:
• At least one year completed in post-secondary education
• Must be a current KPU student in positive standing
• Identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
• Knowledge of campus resources and advocacy issues
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
