- Senior Project Manager, Construction - Dartmouth, NS

Verge Technologies, a leading technology solutions provider, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, Construction to join our team based out of our head office in Dartmouth, NS. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Senior Project Manager, Construction will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of multi-million-dollar, multi-system construction projects with large structured cabling, security and low-voltage scopes. As Verge continues to scale, this role brings a general contractor-calibre approach to how we deliver our work: owning the contract, driving the schedule, and managing up to general contractors and across other trades so that sites are prepared for our crews when and how we need them.

The Senior Project

Manager, Construction will work alongside other Project Managers, Operations Coordinators, and the Director of Operations to deliver profitable, well-documented projects while ensuring a positive client experience.

The Senior Project Manager, Construction position is a permanent, full-time role based out of our Dartmouth, NS office.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Own and lead the delivery of 7-figure, multi-system construction projects spanning structured cabling, security (access control, video surveillance, intrusion) and other low-voltage systems, from contract award through closeout and warranty
- Review, interpret and administer construction contracts and subcontract agreements (e.g., CCDC and CCA forms), including scope, schedules of values, payment terms, holdbacks, insurance, bonding and notice requirements
- Identify, document, price and negotiate change orders, contemplated change notices, delays and extra work; protect Verge’s contractual position through timely written notice and supporting records
- Manage up to general contractors and construction managers: represent Verge in site and coordination meetings, set clear expectations for site readiness (pathways, backboxes, ceilings, room turnover, power and access) and hold other parties accountable to their commitments
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, drywall, ceiling, door hardware and other trades to sequence work, resolve conflicts, and create the conditions for efficient, uninterrupted installation by Verge crews




- Build and manage project schedules and look-aheads aligned with the GC’s master schedule; flag risks and slippage early and drive recovery plans
- Prepare, submit and track submittals and RFIs, including product data, shop drawings, commissioning plans, test results, O&M; manuals, as-builts and training plans
- Review drawings, specifications and addenda from designers and consultants to identify scope gaps and coordination issues before they become field problems
- Lead project kickoff and handoff from estimating and sales, ensuring scope, assumptions and exclusions are understood by the delivery team
- Create and manage work breakdown structures, labour plans and material procurement with lead technicians to realize worksite efficiencies
- Own project financials, including budgets, cost-to-complete forecasting, monthly progress claims and holdback release, with emphasis on meeting or exceeding gross profit expectations
- Produce formal project reporting for internal leadership, GCs and clients, including progress reports, meeting minutes, issue and risk logs, and financial forecasts
- Lead, motivate and mentor lead technicians and field teams, verifying completed work and providing on-the-job training
- Collaborate with solution designers to ensure quality installations and functional end states across all Verge-provided systems
- Oversee deficiency management, testing, commissioning, substantial performance and closeout documentation
- Understand, adhere to, and promote environmental health & safety practices, including GC site safety programs
- Ensure field timesheets are completed correctly and submit weekly reporting to the Controller and Director of Operations to support project and operational KPIs
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Verge’s project management processes, templates and tools as the company scales




- Any and all other duties assigned by management

Experience & Knowledge Required

- 5–10 years of project management experience with a major sub-trade (electrical, mechanical or systems integration) or general contractor on commercial, institutional or industrial construction projects
- Proven track record delivering individual projects in the 7-figure + dollar range
- Strong working knowledge of construction contracts and standard contract forms (CCDC, CCA), including change management, notice provisions, delay claims, and lien, holdback and prompt payment legislation
- Demonstrated experience running formal submittal, RFI, change order and progress billing processes on large projects
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and managing relationships with GCs, construction managers, consultants and owners, with the confidence to advocate for Verge’s schedule, site conditions and commercial interests
- Strong scheduling and financial skills, including budgeting, forecasting and cost control
- Experience with structured cabling, security, life-safety or ProAV scopes considered a strong asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce professional reports and correspondence
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, time-management and organizational skills; self-motivated and requiring very little supervision
- PMP, CCA Gold Seal Certification, or a diploma/degree in construction management or engineering considered an asset; RCDD considered an asset
- In-depth experience with Microsoft Office; Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, D-Tools and ClickUp considered an asset

Additional Requirements

- Valid driver’s license and reasonable driver abstract
- Construction safety certifications (e.g., Construction Safety Nova Scotia) or willingness to obtain
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and as needed
- The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check and maintain government security clearances
