Server & Kitchen Support El Tenedor Restaurant Bar – Toronto, ON

Yonge Street, steps from Rosedale subway station El Tenedor Restaurant Bar is a small, intimate Spanish- and French-inspired restaurant in Toronto. Our cooking is vegetable-forward and flavour-focused, with vegetarian dishes alongside thoughtfully prepared fish and meat options.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and versatile team member who can work primarily as a server while also helping with basic kitchen preparation, plating, cleaning and general restaurant duties when needed.

Because we are a small restaurant, everyone works together. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both food and hospitality and is comfortable moving between front-of-house and kitchen tasks.

ResponsibilitiesFront of House

- Welcome guests and provide warm, attentive service
- Explain menu items and make food and wine recommendations
- Take orders and serve food, wine, cocktails and other beverages
- Set and reset tables
- Maintain a clean and organized dining room
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Help create a relaxed, personal guest experience

Kitchen Support
- Assist with basic food preparation
- Help plate and finish dishes during service
- Prepare simple garnishes and ingredients
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Wash dishes and kitchen equipment when required
- Assist the chef and kitchen team wherever needed

What We’re Looking For
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
- Some kitchen experience is an asset
- Comfortable speaking with guests and explaining food and drinks
- Friendly, confident and personable
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to multitask in a small, fast-moving restaurant




- Interested in food, wine and hospitality
- Comfortable helping outside your primary role when needed
- Able to lift up to approximately 50 lbs
- Good spoken English
- Available for evening and weekend shifts

Smart Serve certification is required for alcohol service. Food Handler certification is an asset.

About El Tenedor El Tenedor is a small, chef-led restaurant where the people preparing the food are closely involved in the guest experience.

We enjoy cooking with vegetables, but we are not a vegetarian restaurant. Our menu combines vegetable-focused dishes with fish and meat options, drawing inspiration from Spanish and French cooking.

We work with whole ingredients, prepare much of our food from scratch and focus on thoughtful, flavourful food without unnecessary complication.

Our small size means this is not a highly divided restaurant environment. We are looking for someone who enjoys teamwork and is happy to serve a table, polish a wine glass, plate a dish or help the kitchen when required.

Schedule

Evening and weekend availability is important.

Part-time or full time hours may be available depending on experience and availability.
