The Diesel Shop is looking for an organized, customer-focused Service Writer to join our team in Edson.

This is an key role in our service department. You will be the connection between our customers, technicians, Parts Department and Service Manager, helping ensure jobs are properly documented, communicated and kept moving through the shop.

What You'll Do

- Greet customers and discuss their service and repair needs
- Create and maintain accurate work orders
- Schedule repairs and help coordinate technician workflow
- Communicate estimates, repair status, approvals and completion times with customers
- Keep customers informed of additional repairs, changes or delays
- Work closely with technicians to ensure work performed and required repairs are properly documented
- Coordinate parts requirements with the Parts Department
- Prepare estimates and invoicing
- Follow up on outstanding work orders and customer approvals
- Maintain accurate customer, vehicle and repair information
- Help keep the service department organized and jobs moving efficiently
- Provide professional customer service in person, by phone and by email
- Assist the Service Manager and service team as required

What We're Looking For
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities at the same time
- Comfortable working in a busy heavy-duty repair environment
- Strong computer and administrative skills




- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, technicians and parts staff
- Mechanical knowledge is a strong asset
- Heavy-duty truck, equipment or automotive experience is an asset
- Previous Service Writer or Service Advisor experience is preferred

Heavy-duty experience is valuable, but we're also interested in candidates with strong organizational and customer-service skills who are willing to learn.
