SharePoint Migration Architect: On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for a SharePoint Migration Architect for a 12 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Calgary office.

SharePoint Migration Architect - : We are seeking a Calgary-based experienced SharePoint Migration Architect to lead the planning, governance, and migration-readiness activities for a large-scale digital workplace transformation. This role involves guiding the migration of enterprise content from legacy file shares to Microsoft SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams, establishing a scalable migration factory to support numerous business groups and users.

SharePoint Migration Architect - Responsibilities:

- Lead migration discovery, readiness assessments, and migration planning activities.
- Design and refine a repeatable migration factory, including templates, governance processes, readiness criteria, and migration packages.
- Conduct content assessments, dependency analysis, content mapping, permissions reviews, and migration readiness evaluations.
- Lead pilot migration planning, validation, issue management, and lessons-learned activities.
- Develop migration wave strategies, department prioritization models, and go/no-go recommendations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, site owners, content owners, and technical teams to resolve migration challenges and support decision-making.
- Provide architectural guidance and recommendations to support SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams adoption.





SharePoint Migration Architect - Mandatory Skills:

- 8+ years of experience delivering SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Proven experience leading large-scale SharePoint or file-share migration initiatives.
- Strong understanding of information architecture, governance, permissions, content lifecycle management, and collaboration platforms.
- Experience with migration readiness assessments, content analysis, dependency mapping, and migration planning.
- Robust workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience creating governance frameworks, operating procedures, migration strategies, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.

SharePoint Migration Architect – Nice-to-Have Skills:

- Experience with migration tools such as AvePoint Fly, AvePoint Opus, LinkFixer Advanced, or similar platforms.
- Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure, or Enterprise Architecture certifications.
- Experience in highly regulated industries such as energy, utilities, natural resources, or public sector organizations.
- Familiarity with information governance, records management, compliance, and content lifecycle practices.
