Pentagon Manufacturing is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Shipping/Crating Assistant. This role supports shipping, packaging, and crating operations by preparing products and equipment for safe transportation. This position involves packing and securing items, building and preparing crates, loading and unloading shipments, maintaining shipping documentation, and keeping the work area organized and safe. Job Duties

- Prepare products, equipment, and materials for shipment.
- Build, assemble, and prepare wooden crates according to specifications.
- Measure, wrap, cushion, and secure items to prevent damage during transportation.
- Pick, pack, label, and stage orders for shipment.
- Verify products, quantities, dimensions, and shipping information.
- Assist with loading of trucks and containers using appropriate equipment.
- Safely handle heavy, oversized, and fragile items.
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, bills of lading, and other required documentation when required.
- Inspect items and packaging before shipment to ensure they are properly secured.
- Organize materials and maintain an efficient shipping and crating area.
- Operate hand tools and basic shop equipment safely.
- Follow company procedures and all workplace health and safety requirements.
- Communicate with warehouse, production, drivers, and other departments to ensure shipments are completed on time.
- Perform general warehouse and shipping duties as assigned.

Skills

- Previous shipping, warehouse, crating, packaging, or material-handling experience is an asset.
- Experience using basic hand tools is an asset.




- Positive attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and measurements accurately.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for shipping documentation and inventory records.
- Forklift experience or experience operating material-handling equipment is an asset.
