The Role

We're hiring a Shop Fire Extinguisher Technician to service and recharge fire extinguishers in our shop. We have a large volume of extinguishers coming through in the months ahead, and we need someone who can work through them quickly and get every one right.

You'll work alongside our Shop Manager, with extinguisher servicing as your main focus and general shop support as a secondary part of the job.

This is a shop-based role. It isn't a field position, and it isn't meant as a stepping stone into one. What it is: steady, hands-on work where your skill on the bench matters every day. If you like working with your hands, take pride in doing things properly, and enjoy seeing a full rack of finished units at the end of the day, this is a good fit.

A note on location: we're currently based in Concord, but by December 2026 we're moving the shop to a recent location near Pearson Airport, on the Mississauga/Etobicoke border close to the 401 and the 427. Please apply with that area in mind rather than Concord. Within a few months of starting,



that's where you'd be working.

What You'll Do

- Service, maintain, and recharge a range of portable fire extinguishers, including dry chemical (ABC and BC), Class K wet chemical, water, and clean agent units.
- Perform internal maintenance and hydrostatic test prep, replacing parts, seals, and components as needed.
- Inspect every unit carefully and make sure it meets NFPA 10 and Ontario Fire Code requirements before it leaves the shop.
- Record your work accurately in our service tracking system so every extinguisher has a clean, complete history.
- Keep a steady pace on high-volume batches without letting quality slip.
- Support the Shop Manager with general shop duties: keeping the workspace organized, maintaining tools and equipment, and helping keep stock in order.

Where You Come In We build our own systems and software in-house, including the tools we use to track service on every piece of equipment. The goal is simple: less time on paperwork, more time on the actual work.

You'll be one of the people using these tools every day. If something slows you down or there's a better way to do it, tell us. That feedback shapes what we build next.

What We're Looking For

- Hands-on experience servicing fire extinguishers is a strong asset. If you're mechanically inclined and quick to learn, we'll train the right person.




- Efficient and detail-oriented: you can work fast and still catch the small things.
- A strong work ethic: reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Comfortable with hand tools and physically able to lift, move, and handle extinguishers throughout the day.
- Comfortable with basic data entry on a computer or tablet.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Class G driver's licence with a clean abstract. You'll occasionally use the shop vehicle for parts pick-ups and deliveries, though not on a daily basis.
- Able to provide a clear criminal record check on request.

Pay
- From CA$20.00 per hour, based on experience.
