Snow Removal - Sidewalk Crew

Winter Contract: On Call

Wage: $21-25 (depending on experience)

Speedside Mclean is an established Snow Removal and Maintenance company servicing Guelph and surrounding areas. We are currently recruiting three team members for our sidewalk crews. The ideal candidates will be experienced in general snow removal duties. This role requires dependability, physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively.

Duties

- Snow and ice maintenance including clearing sidewalks with shovel, blower, or sidewalk machine. Salting sidewalks by hand with buckets or by machine. Salting parking lots by salt truck. Filling sidewalk bins with salt or ice melter. Refueling trucks or equipment.
- Site inspection, quality control, health and safety inspections and visits
- Ability to drive a truck and trailer
- Helping other teams complete all of the work prior to going home.
- Helping with equipment maintenance and repair to your abilities.
- Ability to operate snow removal equipment ( i.e. snow blowers, sidewalk tractors, salt spreader, hand spreaders, shovels, etc., etc.)




- Ability to work outside for long periods of time during all weather conditions
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Follow instructions from supervisors and delegate tasks to the team
- Participate in team meetings
- Operate hand tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines at all times
- Believes in respect, excellence and customer focus

Qualifications

- Ability to be available on-call
- Reliable transportation to arrive at work and begin your shift at our Guelph Shop any time of day or night
- Prior employment in snow removal (at least 2 winter seasons)
- Valid G drivers license
- Clean drivers abstract
- Functioning cell phone with data
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials

Job Type: Full time Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
