HECOD Blockchain Inc. is a Vancouver-based applied technology company. We build software, workflow, and verifiable systems for markets that still run on disconnected spreadsheets, inboxes, and portals.

Our approach is "technology without ideology." We start with the operational problem and choose the tools after. Cloud infrastructure, conventional databases, APIs, workflow automation, and applied AI do most of the work. Blockchain is used only where shared verification and tamper-evident records add practical value.

Our products

- HECOD Collect (controlled preview): a receivables workspace for B2B service businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and shared inboxes. It brings invoices, follow-up decisions, and customer responses into one reviewable record.
- HECOD Shelfware (planned): software spend and renewal control. It connects finance, IT, and department evidence so an owner can decide whether to keep, investigate, or change a subscription.
- EVRAYO (in development): an operating layer for private real estate that connects sponsors, property-specific entities, and eligible investors from onboarding through distributions.
- HECOD Block (invitation-only): our first launched product, a no-code blockchain deployment platform.

We also deliver custom software, integration, and advisory work for small businesses, enterprises, and the public sector.

THE ROLE

You will write, test, and maintain the code behind HECOD Collect and the products that follow it. This is a hands-on engineering role on a small team. You will own features end to end: from reading the requirement, through the data model and API, to tests, deployment, and documentation.

Collect handles money-adjacent records. A wrong reminder sent to a customer who already paid damages a client relationship. The engineering standard follows from that: correctness first, clear audit history, and permissions enforced on the server, not only in the interface.

MAIN DUTIES

- Write, modify, integrate, and test software code for web applications and backend services
- Maintain existing programs by making modifications as required, including bug fixes, refactoring, and performance improvements
- Identify and communicate technical problems, processes,



and solutions to the founder and team
- Prepare reports, technical documentation, architecture notes, runbooks, and internal manuals
- Research and evaluate software products, libraries, frameworks, and services before adoption
- Assist in the design of database schemas and data migrations
- Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality standards
- Lead and coordinate small development tasks with other engineers when required

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES

Receivables Data and Logic

- Maintain and extend Collect's data model: invoices, customers, payments, credits, disputed amounts, and balances in each invoice's currency
- Build and test the rules engine that prioritizes follow-up by overdue age, balance, and follow-up history
- Implement hold logic that keeps paid, disputed, promised, snoozed, and stale records out of reminders

Reminders and Scheduling
- Build scheduled reminder processing that respects workspace rules, approval requirements, and daily delivery limits
- Implement sending checks that stop a reminder when the underlying record has changed since the draft was approved
- Monitor and handle delivery failures, retries, and bounces

Access Control and Audit
- Enforce role-based access (Owner, Administrator, Collector, Approver, Viewer) using PostgreSQL row-level security
- Keep company data isolated between workspaces
- Log every change and approval so a user can see who did what and when

Data Import and Integrations
- Maintain CSV import with validation, error reporting, and duplicate review
- Contribute to the upcoming QuickBooks Online integration, including authentication, sync logic, and reconciliation
- Build and document internal APIs used by the web application

Quality and Operations
- Write automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) for all new work
- Deploy to production through the existing pipeline and verify releases after deployment
- Write short incident reports when something breaks, covering cause, impact, and fix
- Keep technical documentation current

REQUIREMENTS

Education

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field, OR
- College diploma in computer programming or software development

Experience
- 3+ years of professional software development experience




- Experience shipping and maintaining a production web application

Technical Skills
- Strong TypeScript or JavaScript
- Robust SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database
- Experience designing, building, and testing APIs
- Experience with background jobs, scheduled tasks, or queues
- Working knowledge of Git, code review, and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and secure handling of business data

Working Skills
- Clear written communication in English
- Able to break an ambiguous requirement into small, testable pieces
- Comfortable working directly with the founder and without layers of management

NICE TO HAVE

- Next.js and React
- Supabase, including row-level security policies
- Cloudflare Workers or other edge runtimes
- Stripe billing integration
- Experience with accounting, invoicing, billing, or receivables data
- Experience integrating with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar accounting APIs
- Experience building multilingual or multi-currency applications
- French, Spanish, or German proficiency

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

First 3 Months

- You understand Collect's data model, rules, and permission structure
- You have shipped several features or fixes to production with tests
- You have documented at least one area of the system that was previously undocumented

First 12 Months
- You own one major area of the platform, such as reminders, imports, or integrations
- You have contributed to a production accounting integration
- Other team members rely on your documentation and code reviews
