The City of Abbotsford is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our dynamic team as a full time Sports Field, Turf and Irrigation Technician within the Park Operations Division.

Reporting to the Sports Field, Turf and Irrigation Supervisor, you will play a key role in the construction, maintenance, and enhancement of sports fields, turf grass areas, municipal landscapes, and irrigation systems. You will be responsible for the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of irrigation and drainage infrastructure, applying industry best practices and standards in all aspects of your work.

If you enjoy working outdoors and have a passion for turf grass management, this is an excellent opportunity to help maintain and improve the City's parks, sports fields, green spaces, and municipal grounds. In this role,



you will perform a variety of duties including sports field construction and maintenance, irrigation and drainage system installation and repair, integrated pest management activities, and the development and upkeep of park amenities and landscaped areas.

Your extensive knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment used in turf grass, synthetic sports field, and irrigation system maintenance, combined with your ability to safely operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment, will make you a valuable member of our team.

As the successful candidate you will have:

- Completion of Grade 12
- Completion of one year of technical training in turf grass and irrigation from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Two years’ experience maintaining specialized turf grass
- BC Pesticide Applicator's Certificate in the Landscape and Garden category
- Valid BC Driver's Licence
