Job Title: Staff Product Designer – Expert
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
Duration: 12-month contract
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Digital Product Designer / Staff Designer – Product Experience to support complex digital product initiatives within Wealth Management.
This is an individual contributor role requiring strong expertise in interaction design, visual design, product strategy, and business alignment . The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across complex and ambiguous problems while remaining hands-on in design execution.
The designer will provide design leadership, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and help connect design decisions to measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Execution
- Lead medium-to-high complexity digital design initiatives across multiple teams and business units.
- Create high-fidelity prototypes, complex user flows, and digital experiences across web and mobile.
- Apply strong visual design, interaction design, information architecture, and design-system principles.
- Develop brand-forward digital experiences while maintaining consistency with established standards.
- Incorporate accessibility and inclusive design principles into digital experiences.
- Conduct design testing and validation based on user and business objectives.
- Maintain design documentation, governance, and design lifecycle processes.
Design Strategy & Business Alignment
- Connect design decisions to business objectives, product strategy, and organizational goals.
- Provide design direction and ensure a high standard of design craft.
- Present design strategies and recommendations to senior and executive stakeholders.
- Partner with Product, Business, Research,
and Technology teams to solve complex problems.
- Identify research and knowledge gaps and recommend appropriate research approaches.
- Establish and track metrics that demonstrate design impact, including engagement, conversion, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct competitive design audits and evaluate UI and visual-spatial patterns.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Provide thought leadership across design initiatives and contribute to the evolution of design practices.
- Communicate complex design concepts clearly to diverse audiences and senior stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams and business partners.
- Influence product decisions through strong design rationale, storytelling, and business context.

Qualifications
- Senior/Staff-level experience in Product Design, Digital Product Design, UX/UI, or a related discipline .
- Proven experience leading complex digital product initiatives.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both strategic thinking and hands-on design execution .
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to translate design decisions into measurable business and customer outcomes.
- Solid communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
