Junip is looking for a Staff Software Engineer who wants to help shoppers make the right purchasing decisions when shopping online.

The Junip product

We operate a review platform at significant scale (10,000+ customers / merchants, tens of millions of shoppers / reviews). We also have new agentic product that is growing quickly. They both work together to help shoppers make purchasing decisions when buying from ecommerce stores.

What you'll do

- Design and implement new features end to end, primarily using Rails and React
- Solve performance and infrastructure challenges to scale while improving speed & reliability
- Actively collaborate with CX and other team members to fold learnings back into the product experience
- Keep a high quality bar for the Junip codebase & product (while moving quickly)

Some of the technology you'll work with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, RubyLLM, Vector DB(s), Redis, Sidekiq, AWS etc

Need to have

- Experience building web applications at significant scale, ideally in Ruby on Rails and/or adjacent technologies




- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, crafting maintainable code
- Comfort & eagerness to ship to production daily
- Confidence in crafting public APIs, leveraging webhooks and building scalable services (finding solutions to N+1 query problems, maintaining endpoint speed and reliability)
- Excellent written communication, able to clearly articulate complex ideas / plans
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate both your pace & quality of software development

Nice to have

- Experience building for ecommerce merchants
- Experience building agentic tools
