Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our team for local and federal transportation operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and freight handling. This role requires a professional with excellent driving skills with flat deck experience, safety awareness, and the ability to operate various types of heavy machinery.

Duties

- Safely operate commercial vehicles including trucks and heavy equipment for local and federal routes
- Transport freight efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness
- Follow all federal, state, and company safety policies during operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries

Skills

- Proven experience operating Class 1 commercial vehicles in a qualified setting
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on heavy vehicles
- Strong understanding of federal transportation regulations and compliance standards

- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients

Your earning potential varies depending on the type of work and runs you take. City work is paid hourly, while drivers who are willing to take long-haul runs can earn based on truck revenue.

For shorter out-of-town and northern runs, we offer flat-rate pay that can provide higher earnings than the equivalent hourly rate, depending on the run.

This gives drivers the flexibility to choose between consistent city work and higher-earning opportunities on out-of-town and long-haul runs.

We offer opportunities for drivers who want consistent local work as well as those looking to maximize their earnings through longer hauls.
