These procedures do not require interpretation assessment or the exercise of independent judgment. The procedures are performed under the direct supervision of the Medical Laboratory Technologist.Skills And Qualifications RequiredGraduate of an approved Laboratory Assistants/Technician training programExperience in phlebotomyExperience in working with elderly clients and individuals with a variety of disabilities an assetPosition ResponsibilitiesObtains blood and urine specimens from inpatients, outpatients, and staff when requested by Occupational Health ServicesPrepares samples and coordinates the referral of specimens to licensed laboratories for analysis and the subsequent distribution of test resultsSupports Point of Care Testing programsHelps to maintain equipment, inventory,
