4EVER Strategies is a purpose-driven tourism management organization representing and supporting the tourism & hospitality industry of Vancouver Island and operates the Campbell River Visitor Centre. About the position The Supervisor, Visitor Services is an important member of the 4EVER Strategies Visitor Services team and is responsible for supervising the visitor services operations and staff of the Campbell River Visitor Centre and mobile kiosk in Campbell River. This involves coordinating the on-site building services, supervising staff and volunteers and developing and maintaining relationships with the tourism and hospitality businesses of Campbell River as well as community and ancillary organizations that contribute to the region’s economic development.
You will report to the Visitor Services Manager and will be an important member of the Visitor Services Team at the Campbell River Visitor Centre. Visitor Services Supervisor is an important link between residents, visitors and the tourism sector providers and provides answers to questions about the area, history, attractions and accommodations.
- Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Campbell River Visitor Centre and at a mobile kiosk and ensure Visitor Centre Network requirements and standards are met.
- Train, schedule and supervise the Visitor Centre staff to ensure a high-quality visitor experience
- Implement and supervise visitor service retail systems and work to grow retail revenue opportunities
- Facilitate visitor services and programs by working closely with relevant stakeholders to deliver high quality visitor experiences
- Coordinate the successful achievement of project timelines and budget allocations
- Support in the delivery of all funder and internal reporting requirements
- Prepare and deliver presentations for effective consultation and stakeholder relations
- Greet visitors in a qualified, prompt and friendly manner.
- Promote Campbell River stakeholders, local tourism products, services and events.
- Respond to resident and visitor inquiries by mail, phone, email, and in-person.
- Create personalized travel itineraries in response to resident and visitor inquiries.
- Encourage safe travel practices in our community and advocate for longer and return visits.
- Assist in ongoing community and stakeholder outreach to collect updated operational information.
- Research and maintain community information relevant to any travel advisories
- Summarize and report any findings and important feedback to Campbell River Visitor Centre staff in regards to stakeholder concerns.
- Maintain and update files and reference manuals.
- Create statistical reports for Destination BC on resident and visitor statistics.
- Assist the Visitor Services Manager with program administration.
- Provide assistance to Campbell River Visitor Centre and 4EVER Strategies staff
- Other duties as required
What we are looking for Education/Experience
- A post-secondary education in a relevant field like Tourism Management, Marketing or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and work experience;
- A minimum of 1-2 years in a role that requires organization, administration and supervisory skills.

- Experience and skill in supervising projects and meeting deadlines
- A preference for working in a team environment, with a great deal of flexibility and self-management
- Outstanding customer service knowledge and skills
- High degree of sensitivity and diplomacy in dealing with the public, staff, board and stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of Vancouver Island and Campbell River
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Able to travel, including use of personal vehicle
- Ability to uphold and embody the core values of the Association
