: Warehouse ManagerPosition Summary The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations within a temperature-controlled environment. This includes managing receiving, storage, inventory control, shipping, compliance, staff supervision, and ensuring adherence to food safety protocols. The role ensures efficient and safe handling of perishable products while driving operational excellence, inventory accuracy, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead daily cold storage warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, inventory counts, order picking, shipping, and invoicing processes.

· Ensure strict adherence to HACCP, CFIA (Documentation), and cold chain standards to maintain product quality and safety.

· Develop and manage shift schedules, labor planning, and staff assignments to meet demand efficiently.

· Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and discipline warehouse employees; promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.

· Monitor warehouse KPI’s related to the warehouse operations and prepare regular reports detailing productivity, shipping/receiving accuracy, inventory count analysis

· Key performance indicators to report on and to meet a pre-determined budget, Picking error reporting, cycle counts completed to standard, inventory discrepancies, Orders picked / lines picked efficiency, Labour actual vs Labour budgeted, Time from receiving to put away, Warehouse capacity utilization, % damaged inventory vs overall inventory, meet OTIF of 99% (On-time In Full)

· Conduct regular cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and conduct root cause analysis on the inventory discrepancy

· Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and refrigeration systems as well as a forklift checklist is maintained before the start of each shift.

· Optimize layout and space utilization within cold and freezer zones to support productive operations.





· Develop and implement continuous improvements to the SOP to ensure efficiency and error reducing measures are in place

· Coordinate closely with logistics, procurement, and sales to support inbound/outbound scheduling and customer fulfillment.

· Maintain lot traceability and appropriate FIFO or FEFO stock rotation practices. Support mock recalls and product recalls, quarantine affected inventory and ensure accurate documentation from receipt through shipment.

· Oversee and document food safety procedures, sanitation logs, hold/release reports, and maintenance requests.

· Lead warehouse response for CFIA inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance efforts. Plan, update and execute emergency response protocols for power outages, refrigeration failure, and other disruptions.

· Track and report on vendor performance, freight issues, and order discrepancies with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse or cold storage environments, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of HACCP, CFIA, and cold chain compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP software, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in cold environments and lead by example in high-paced operational settings.

Relevant food safety or HACCP training and current forklift certification are preferred. Candidates must be able to work safely in refrigerated and freezer environments, use required personal protective equipment, remain mobile throughout the shift, and perform the material-handling duties associated with warehouse operations.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
