Waste Audit Field Technician & Driver

Are you passionate about building a circular economy and/or leading a zero waste lifestyle? Do you want to support local businesses to reduce their waste and recycle more effectively? This position is an opportunity to participate in unique and detailed studies which will reveal and influence how much local municipalities, institutions and businesses are recycling and diverting from landfill.

Main Responsibilities:

- Carpool other team members to/from the job site.
- Analyze and manually sort waste, recycling and organics into different categories
- Pick up work vehicle from M1P 2R7 area for jobs prior to job start
- Conduct waste audits at various sites across the GTA
- Participate in out-of-town audits (including travel accommodations provided by WRG)
- Chance to support waste audit lead with data entry and analysis.

Successful candidates must meet these requirements:

- Must be a Canadian Citizen
- Comfortable working in and around waste and within waste facilities.
- Can provide a CVOR Drivers Abstract with resume
- Availability to get to the GTA job sites via car or public transit (car is a bonus!)
- Must be physically able to lift up to 30lbs, be willing and able to perform physical labour
- Able to work well in a team; positive and friendly attitude
- Robust communication skills
- Good attention to detail

Job Type: Part-time Hours:



25hrs and up to 40 per week

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday - Friday, 8a-5p
- Ability for weekend travel days for out of town audits

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Work Location: Mobile, visiting various audit sites

- Greater Toronto Area, ON: reliably commute via vehicle and/or public transit

Ideal candidates would also have these assets:

- Post-secondary degree/diploma in an environmental discipline or equivalent experience/accreditation
- Experience in conducting waste audits or similar field work
- Experience in conducting data entry
- Own CSA-approved steel-toed boots
