Job Description:

Position: Interim Assistant Controller

Location: On-site, 5 days/week, Cambridge/Kitchener

Duration: 3+ months

Robert Half is seeking an Interim Assistant Controller to support the finance team. This role comes at a critical time of year and will play an important part in supporting month-end, budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation, and year-end activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Controller/Senior Accountant who enjoys a hands-on role and is comfortable supporting both operational accounting and day-to-day finance activities. In addition, this role will have significant involvement with farming operations, inventory, biological assets, and inventory/costing flows across multiple barn locations.

Responsibilities:

· Lead month-end close activities for operations

· Support AP, AR, costing, and inventory accounting

· Assist with annual budgeting and three-year forecasting





· Help prepare for preliminary audit work and year-end audit support

· Work closely with operational leadership to provide financial reporting and analysis

· Provide hands-on support with transactional accounting, including AP coverage as needed

· Assist with consolidation of financial information across the business

Requirements:

Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience as an Assistant Controller or Senior Accountant in a hands-on environment with agriculture, livestock, food production, or manufacturing experience.

· Solid operational accounting experience across month-end, AP, AR, costing, and inventory

· SAP or large ERP Systems experience preferred

· CPA Designation or equivalent

· Flexible, team-oriented, and willing to jump in wherever needed
