Duties:

We are exploring our curriculum and program learning outcomes, and we invite applicants who are excited about contributing to shaping the future of our department. We welcome sociologists interested in interdisciplinary collaboration within the social sciences, particularly with the department of Anthropology.

We seek to hire an individual whose scholarly experience speaks to contemporary issues with expertise in areas that complement those already in the Department. Priority will be given to individuals with an interest in developing current courses for the program and creating engaging learning opportunities for undergraduate students.

The teaching responsibilities of successful candidates may include research methods.

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.

Required Qualifications:

- An earned PhD in Sociology from an accredited institution.
- Recent experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate Sociology courses.
- Research experience that supports the development of new courses and the mentoring of undergraduate researchers.
- Participation in professional development activities.
- Demonstrated proficiency with technology relevant to the position.

Preferred Qualifications:





Experience teaching small classes in an inclusive institutional environment.
A record of institutional service.
