Job Summary

As the Afternoon (2nd shift) Production Supervisor, you run the entire production floor from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. You are the most senior operational leader in the building during the afternoon shift, responsible for Screen Print, Heat Transfer, Embroidery and Logistics.

You work off the lead of the three department supervisors — SP/HT, Embroidery and Logistics. They plan the work, set priorities and stage the day before your shift begins.

Your job is to execute that plan: deliver the output they have committed to, at the quality standard they have set, within the hours available.

If a machine goes down, an order changes or someone calls in, you make the call on the floor — redeploying people between departments and resequencing work to protect the commitment. You lead and develop the 2nd shift team, keep the floor safe and organized, and hand back a transparent, accurate picture of what was completed and what was not. You report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per annum

Location: Oakville, On – In-Office Monday – Friday; 3pm – 11pm (2nd shift)

Responsibilities

Leadership and people

- Lead, supervise and develop all 2nd shift staff across Screen Print, Heat Transfer, Embroidery and Logistics — including day-to-day direction, training, coaching and performance management.
- Set the pace and standard for the shift: hold the team accountable to daily targets, quality expectations and professional conduct.
- Build a cross-trained team so that every department has trained backup coverage and the shift is never dependent on one person.
- Partner with HR on hiring, onboarding, attendance, discipline and documentation for 2nd shift employees.

Executing the production plan

- Work off the lead of the 1st shift supervisors. They plan,



prioritize and stage the work, and set the 2nd shift staff schedule, before your shift begins; you execute it.
- Receive the daily plan and handover at the start of every shift, confirm you have the labour, materials and equipment to deliver it, and raise any gap immediately.
- Assign people and equipment across all four departments to deliver the planned output on time and in the sequence set.
- Adjust in real time when the plan breaks. You have the authority to redeploy staff between departments and re-sequence work to protect customer commitments; significant deviations are communicated to the relevant department supervisor and the COO.
- Ensure Logistics picks, packs, stages and ships accurately so that completed orders leave on schedule.
- Deliver a complete written handover at the end of every shift — what was completed, what was not, what moved, and why — so the department supervisors can plan the next day from fact, not guesswork.

Quality

- Maintain Entripy's quality standard across all decoration methods — inspect work in progress and finished goods against customer specifications and approved samples.
- Own first-piece approval, colour matching and print/stitch quality sign-off before a run continues.
- Investigate defects and reprints, identify root cause, and put corrective action in place rather than reacting order by order.

Equipment and technical troubleshooting

- Oversee daily maintenance, cleaning and calibration of all production equipment; ensure it runs efficiently and safely.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues — screen setup, ink consistency and colour matching, heat press temperature and dwell, embroidery thread breaks, tensioning and digitizing issues.
- Arrange repairs or servicing when required to minimize downtime.
- Train team members on troubleshooting so that routine problems are solved on the floor without stopping the line.

Safety and housekeeping

- Enforce all health and safety requirements, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, lockout/tagout and PPE use.
- Act as the senior safety authority on shift: respond to incidents, complete reporting, and ensure first aid and emergency procedures are followed.
- Maintain a clean, organized and audit-ready floor across all departments at end of shift.

Reporting and continuous improvement

- Maintain accurate records of production output, labour hours,



materials usage and equipment maintenance.
- Report on shift performance — output against plan, efficiency, quality issues, downtime and staffing — to the COO and the department supervisors.
- Feed what you see on the floor back into the planning process — where the plan is consistently unachievable, where capacity is being lost, and where sequencing could be improved.
- Identify bottlenecks and waste, and recommend process, layout or scheduling changes that improve throughput and reduce cost per unit.

Skills And Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing, decoration or production environment.
- Hands-on experience in at least one decoration method — screen printing, embroidery or heat transfer — with working knowledge of the equipment and process.
- Demonstrated ability to execute a production plan across multiple departments and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Sound judgement under pressure — able to make the right call on the floor when the plan breaks, and to communicate that decision clearly afterward.
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to quality.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; comfortable being the final decision-maker on shift and equally comfortable working to a plan someone else has set.
- Comfortable with computerized production systems, ERP/order management software and basic reporting.
- Available to work 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with flexibility to stay later or adjust during peak periods.
