Main Functions

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to implement barcoding solutions, including system configuration, testing, training, deployment, go-live support, and user adoption, ensuring solutions effectively support warehouse and production processes.
- Partcipate in analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and continuous improvement of solutions using Synergy DBL and the existing in-house developed ERP application framework.
- Write clean, reliable and maintainable code; perform unit testing, debugging, peer review and defect correction.
- Develop and support functionality across sales order processing, purchasing, inventory management, warehouse operations, production planning and execution, and financial/accounting processes.
- Understand and validate business impacts, including inventory movements, units of measure, batches/lots, barcoding, production consumption, costing, invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger and financial reporting.
- Design, develop and support integrations between our existing in-house developed ERP and other enterprise platforms, including EDI and Electronic banking solutions, electronic invoicing platforms, data warehouse/reporting platforms, web services, APIs and middleware.
- Implement appropriate validation, error logging, notifications, retry/reprocessing controls and reconciliation mechanisms for interfaces and business-critical transactions.
- Perform detailed system and data design using reusable components, Synergy DBL standards, ISAM files, relational databases and established integration patterns.
- Investigate root causes of incidents and recurring defects; improve application performance, stability, reliability and supportability.
- Provide production support, incident resolution and technical guidance to users, functional teams and other developers across supported environments and servers.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, code documentation, deployment instructions, data mappings, support procedures, test evidence and change records throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Use source control, work-item tracking, build/release pipelines and change management practices to ensure controlled and traceable deployments.
- Protect data and system integrity by following security, access-control, segregation-of-duties, privacy,



audit and change-management requirements.
- Collaborate with business process owners and subject-matter experts to assess impacts, identify exceptions and ensure solutions work effectively in real operational scenarios.

Technical skills

Required

- Practical understanding of warehouse and inventory processes, including receiving, putaway, picking, shipping, transfers, locations, lots/batches, units of measure, cycle counting, barcoding and traceability
- Understanding of end-to-end order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, plan-to-produce and record to- report processes and the dependencies between operational and financial transactions.
- Practical understanding of manufacturing and production processes, including recipes/formulas or bills of material, production orders, material consumption, yields, finished goods, quality status and production reporting.
- Strong sense of ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, autonomy, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Analytical and methodical: Able to quickly understand complex business systems that have evolved over decades.
- Detail oriented: Understands how small changes can have significant impacts on mission critical applications.

An asset
- Working accounting knowledge, including chart of accounts, financial dimensions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, inventory valuation, costing, accruals, invoicing, period controls and transaction reconciliation.

- Ability to leverage modern development tools, including AI-assisted capabilities, to support, maintain and enhance existing business applications and legacy systems
- Ability to analyze complex incidents across application, data, integration and infrastructure layers and communicate the root cause and resolution clearly
- Ability to communicate effectively with end users, business stakeholders, functional analysts, technical teams and external partners




- Ability to manage multiple priorities, switch between projects and production support, and work effectively in a global workplace
- Ability to create effective unit, integration, regression and business-process test scenarios.

General criteria

Required

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software Engineering or a combination of diploma and equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in Synergy DBL (ISAM files) or similar programming language (i.e.: COBOL, RPG, C++).
- Experience developing or supporting ERP or other transaction-intensive business applications in a multi-company environment.
- This position requires occasional travel (approximately four trips per year).

An asset
- Experience in Barcoding implementations is an asset
- Experience with SQL and rela?onal databases, including queries, stored procedures, data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Experience with source control and DevOps practices, preferably Azure DevOps, Git, pipelines and release management.
- Experience with EDI, enterprise integrations, barcoding/label printing or reporting tools such as Crystal Reports is an asset.
- Experience with .NET Framework, ASP.NET, web services or APIs.
