Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient procedures
- Assist dentists during examinations and treatments by handing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient comfort support
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools when necessary for diagnosis
- Manage patient records efficiently using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic to ensure accurate documentation of treatments and appointments
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and answering queries professionally
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing health
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards throughout all clinical activities
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental assisting or related roles, with knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with dental management software such as Dentrix or Epic for record keeping and appointment scheduling
- Basic understanding of orthodontics procedures and pediatrics is preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including children in pediatric dentistry settings
- Ability to handle medical terminology accurately and confidently during patient interactions and documentation
- Knowledge of CAD tools used for digital imaging or design is a plus but not mandatory
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training from an accredited program is highly desirable
