The Prospect
We are seeking an experienced, bilingual Executive Assistant with extensive connections and deep expertise in South America to join our energetic LCI Team.
The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of hands-on experience working as a legal assistant in
South American law firms, combined with strong analytical capabilities, fluency in both Spanish and
English (reading, writing, and speaking), and excellent communication skills.
Primary responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of forensic hydrology reports for the courts, managing confidential documents, translating materials into Spanish, marketing mining legal cases and mining audits throughout South America,
preparing brochures and marketing documents in Spanish, and interpreting all Spanish-to-English communications.
The successful candidate must be thoroughly familiar with South American court systems, have established relationships within South American legal and mining firms.
Key duties include organizing and maintaining client files, scheduling calendars and court appearances, drafting routine correspondence, preparing invoices and tracking time, conducting specialized engineering/legal research for forensic cases, tracking procedural deadlines, and serving as a primary point of contact for South American client inquiries.
We seek a loyal, hard-working, service-oriented person capable of working both independently and collaboratively on complex, multifaceted projects ranging from environmental law to mining litigation and corporate investigations.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- 10 + years of legal assistant experience in South America.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English (reading, writing, and speaking), and excellent
- communication skills.
- Experience in hydraulic modelling.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities applied in complex technical
- environments.
- Good communication skills and teamwork.
- Self-starter and quick to learn new skills.
- Clear, concise technical writing skills.
- Well-balanced with other achievements and passions besides engineering and law.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.

Compensation
- $42/hour based on a minimum of 30 hours per week.
