The BC Scholarship Society has been helping students across British Columbia access post-secondary education for more than 20 years, supported through a longstanding administrative partnership with a service provider. The Society is now transitioning to running its own operations and is looking for an exceptional leader to guide this next chapter.

As our inaugural Executive Director, you will have a rare opportunity to build the Society's internal capacity and operating environment while strengthening its programs, partnerships and impact across British Columbia.

This is more than a leadership role. It's a chance to create lasting impact by shaping strategy, building partnerships, and ensuring scholarship funding reaches students who need it most.

About Us The BC Scholarship Society is a registered charity that helps students overcome financial barriers to post-secondary education through scholarships, awards, and educational partnerships across B.C.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will lead the Society through its transition to an running its own operations while building the foundation for long-term success.

You will

- Lead the transition from the current service provider, ensuring uninterrupted scholarship delivery while establishing BCSS's independent operating workplace.
- Build and lead a new provincial organization.
- Shape strategy, operations, and culture.
- Strengthen scholarship programs and student impact.
- Develop partnerships with donors, governments, post-secondary institutions, and Indigenous communities.
- Grow the Society's reach, sustainability,



and influence across B.C.

- Are you currently located in Victoria B.C., or are you willing to relocate for this position?
- Do you have a degree in public administration, business administration, education, law, social sciences, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience?
- Do you have five years of demonstrated senior leadership experience with responsibility for strategy, operations, governance, financial management, and organizational performance?
- Do you have experience working effectively with a Board of Directors or comparable governing body?
- Do you have experience leading complex programs, services, or organizational initiatives?
- Do you have experience leading people, managing change, and building organizational capacity?
- Do you have experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with diverse stakeholders and partners?
- Do you bring demonstrated financial acumen, including experience overseeing budgets, interpreting financial information, managing organizational resources, and supporting long-term financial sustainability?
- Do you have strong analytical, communication, and writing skills?
