Job Function

Perform carpentry and general maintenance duties.

Perform the following duties

- Construct, erect, install and repair walls, ceilings, flooring, portables, playground equipment, shelving, etc.
- Prepare surfaces and apply finishes to shelving, cabinets, etc.
- Carry out general maintenance duties.
- Estimate, requisition and/or purchase materials and equipment.
- Calculate elevations by use of transit.
- Maintain equipment and machinery.
- Maintain records and prepare reports as required.
- May be required to do custodial duties on a temporary basis.
- Operate a motor vehicle.
- Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 1. OSSD plus General Carpenter’s Certificate of Qualification.

- Knowledge of general building maintenance, provincial construction standards and pertinent government regulations.
- Working from ladders and scaffolds and in confined areas.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.




- Valid driver’s license.
- Using a variety of power and hand tools and machines.
- Communicating effectively and working co-operatively with Board personnel, suppliers and the general public.
