Job Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Educator to join our team, working with students in Grade 9 to Grade 12. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, an understanding of the Montessori philosophy, and the ability to create a dynamic and engaging learning experience. We are looking primarily for Humanities and Mathematics teachers at this time, however all backgrounds are invited to apply for the position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement curriculum tailored to older learners in alignment with Montessori principles and based on the Ontario curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages skill acquisition, a thirst for enrichment, and a desire to understand the ’whys’ in Math, not just how to solve the problem.
- Observe and document students’ progress, providing regular feedback to parents and staff.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate subject-specific education with other areas of the curriculum and practical life skills.
- Participate in school events and activities,
promoting the importance of bilingualism and cultural diversity.
- Prepare and complete Ministry of Education requirements in the provincial inspection process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching Math with this age group.
- Highly proficient in subject specific education and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to create a fun and engaging learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a growth mindset.
