Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Officer functions as a Human Resources Generalist and provides broad human resources support across the organization. Working collaboratively with Human Resources team members, Health and Safety staff, managers and employees, the Human Resources Officer supports recruitment and onboarding, employee and labour relations, attendance and disability management, compensation and benefits administration, OMERS pension administration, payroll and HRIS administration through ADP, policy interpretation, and legislative compliance.

The Human Resources Officer serves as a trusted resource to employees and managers, ensuring the consistent application of organizational policies, collective agreements, employment legislation, and HR best practices while promoting positive employee and labour-management relationships.



The position works collaboratively with Human Resources team members and subject matter specialists to support the effective delivery of Human Resources services across the organization.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- CHRP designation or working toward a Human Resources professional designation is considered an asset.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive Human Resources experience;
- Experience working in a unionized environment;
- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now;
- Experience administering employee advantages and OMERS pension programs;
- Experience supporting employee and labour relations activities, attendance management and disability management programs.
- Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Manager of Human Resources in relation to operational requirements;
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle;
- Must be able to travel as required;
- Must successfully complete a Criminal Record Check and any other screening requirements established by the organization.
