The Environmental Sciences department has an excellent Instructor opportunity for someone who is looking to share their knowledge, support student success, and contribute to a thriving academic environment.
Responsibilities
- Instructional responsibilities include classroom, lab and field trip instruction, lecture and lab preparation and marking.
- The ideal candidate would have instructional and/or industrial expertise in the field(s) of environmental sciences, water quality, project management, contaminated sites, or environmental reclamation.
- Familiarity with the fate and transport of environmental contaminants, industrial monitoring programs, environmental chemistry, and water quality would be an asset for this position.
- Supporting students in developing outdoor field skills and using industry relevant practices.
This role will also involve mentoring applied degree students while on practicums and developing capstone projects.
- Demonstrate a strong industry connection to ensure the program maintains relevancy to current industry practices to support student learning.
Qualifications
- A prospective candidate would have a bachelor’s degree leading to master’s degree or a PhD in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Toxicology, Environmental Chemistry, Earth Science, or another closely related discipline.
- Candidates close to completion of a MSc. or PhD would also be considered.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with a skilled organization such as the AIA, ASPB or APEGA would be an asset.
This is a Sessional Full-Time Faculty position at the Vermilion Campus commencing as soon as possible. This includes a generous benefit package.
