We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable university academic and admissions advisor to provide ongoing guidance to a first-year student currently studying at Huron University College (Western University).
The student’s goal is to apply to the Ivey Business School HBA program through the non-AEO pathway after Year 2. We are looking for someone who understands the Ivey HBA admissions process and can provide strategic, long-term guidance throughout the next two years.
Responsibilities
- Develop a clear Year 1–Year 2 roadmap toward applying to Ivey HBA
- Provide guidance on academic planning, course selection, and maintaining a competitive university average
- Help plan meaningful extracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, clubs, volunteering, and work/internship experience
- Advise on building a strong and authentic profile for the future Ivey HBA application
- Help the student stay organized and accountable throughout the school year
- Provide guidance on the Ivey HBA application, essays, and interview preparation when the time comes
- Provide general university academic and career guidance as needed
Ideal Candidate
- Strong understanding of Western University, Huron University College, and the Ivey HBA admissions process
- Previous experience advising students applying to Ivey HBA, particularly non-AEO university applicants,
is strongly preferred
- Ivey HBA graduates/current upper-year Ivey students, former admissions professionals, university advisors, or experienced admissions consultants are encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of business-related internships, extracurricular opportunities, and student leadership development is an asset
- Supportive, organized, proactive, and able to build a long-term mentoring relationship with the student
Commitment
This is not a one-time application editing position. We are looking for someone who can provide ongoing mentorship and strategic guidance throughout Year 1 and Year 2, with more intensive support during the Ivey HBA application period.
The schedule can be flexible, with regular check-ins throughout the academic year. Meetings may be held online or in person.
