Title: JV & Operations Accountant

Location: Hybrid (Home & Head Office Downtown Calgary)

Placement: Contract or Full-Time Staff

Compensation: Market rate/salary commensurate with experience; includes health/dental coverage and downtown parking allowance (employee).

JOINT VENTURE ACCOUNTING

- Set up and maintain properties, cost centres, partners, DOIs, and AFEs in Pandell JV, including onboarding acquisitions.
- Book monthly JV activity and issue JIBs for operated properties, including CAPL overhead calculations.
- Review, code, and pay non-operated JIBs; manage and resolve partner disputes.
- Execute facility and pipeline equalizations and ownership adjustments.
- Configure gas handling and processing arrangements; invoice third-party fees.
- Track AFEs against actuals, execute close-outs, and issue cash calls.
- Administer EnergyLink statement exchanges and support partner/operator audits.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE & DISBURSEMENTS

- Manage full-cycle AP via OpenInvoice: vendor setup, invoice intake, coding, routing, and posting.
- Execute semi-monthly payment runs (cheque and EFT).
- Process vendor credit applications,



reconcile corporate credit cards, and code expense reports.

REVENUE, RECEIVABLES & ROYALTIES

- Record revenue from purchaser/marketer statements and execute collections.
- Invoice monthly processing fees, road use, fuel gas, and sublease rent.
- Remit Crown, GORR, and freehold royalties; maintain royalty owner records and acquisition updates.

LAND PAYMENTS & ADMINISTRATION

- Manage payment records in Landworks: lessors, payees, rental schedules, and history.
- Remit surface lease rentals, landowner compensation, Crown/freehold mineral rentals, bonuses, and freehold mineral tax.
- Coordinate with the land department on lease amendments, rental reviews, and payment schedules.

MONTH-END & COMPLIANCE

- Execute operational month-end close: accruals, sub-ledger/intercompany reconciliations, lease operating statements, and reporting.
- Prepare monthly GST returns; accrue municipal property taxes and AER levies.
- Record payroll journal entries and reconcile source-deduction remittances.
- Support year-end financial statements and tax filings with external accountants.

Qualifications (MUST HAVE):

- Authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
- Extensive Canadian Oil & Gas operations accounting experience at a licensed operator.
- Direct, hands-on joint venture accounting experience, specifically managing JIBs, AFEs, CAPL overhead, and facility equalizations.
- Proven software proficiency with Pandell JV (or equivalent) and OpenInvoice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Alberta regulatory financial obligations, including Crown/freehold royalties, mineral tax, and surface lease rentals.
- Proven track record of high-autonomy management within a junior oil and gas company.
