About the Prospect

Mercor is seeking experienced senior legal professionals to develop evaluation tasks for AI systems operating in Fortune 500 and large public-company legal contexts.

Selected contributors will design realistic enterprise legal scenarios, create high-quality reference work, and develop detailed evaluation rubrics that distinguish sophisticated legal reasoning from surface-level or incomplete responses. The work is calibrated to the regulatory complexity, transaction scale, and risk environment encountered by major public companies.

Responsibilities

- Construct realistic enterprise legal scenarios covering in-house counsel, regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters for Fortune 500-scale organizations.
- Develop legal tasks grounded in major enterprise compliance frameworks, including FCPA, SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, and sector-specific regulations.
- Create scenarios involving regulated industries such as banking, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and insurance.
- Develop enterprise contracting tasks involving Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), licensing agreements, and related commercial contracts.
- Build M&A; due diligence scenarios reflecting the complexity and scale of Fortune 500 transactions.
- Develop Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and COSO-aligned risk scenarios.
- Create board-level reporting and regulated-industry investigation scenarios.
- Author detailed, criterion-referenced evaluation rubrics reflecting the professional judgment expected from senior Fortune 500 legal counsel.
- Review and refine reference materials to ensure legal accuracy, enterprise relevance, and consistency with the intended evaluation criteria.

Required Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience as in-house counsel at a Fortune 500 or large public company,



or experience as a partner or senior associate at an AmLaw 100 firm representing Fortune 500 clients.
- Deep experience in one or more enterprise legal practice areas, including:
- Mergers & Acquisitions
- Securities
- Regulatory Law
- Employment Law

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms such as:
- Ironclad
- Agiloft
- Icertis
- Experience with enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms and workflows.
- Previous experience authoring legal rubrics, examinations, training materials, or professional assessment content.
- Experience working with board-level legal or risk reporting.
- Broad exposure to cross-functional legal matters within large public companies.

Compensation & Engagement

- Compensation: $110–$150/hour
- Engagement Type: Part-time contract
- Location: Remote
- Eligibility: United States
- Minimum Commitment: 20 hours per week
- Compensation is determined by Mercor based on demonstrated expertise.
- Selected contributors complete the Mercor Rubric Academy, a paid onboarding program designed to calibrate contributors to the required quality standards before beginning live work.
- Strong contributors may advance into reviewer, lead, and domain SME roles with opportunities for elevated rates.
