Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Comply with (and play a leadership role with respect to) all requirements of the Ontario Health and Safety Act & Regulations and Blommer Health & Safety policies and procedures.

· Assist in the coordination of daily activities of the department.

· Assist in training and coaching less experienced personnel along with performing normal work functions.

· Provide leadership and role model appropriate compliance to our core values and policies as well as having some experience in all aspects of the jobs within the department. Comply with all requirements of federal laws, regulations, audit bodies and company policies and procedures.

· Responsible for outside Contractors working in or at the facility.

· Provide orientation to Contractors to provide knowledge of company rules and procedures; provide direction on job tasks and behavioral attributes.

· Improve the capability of processes using defined preventative and predictive maintenance programs.

· Manage service and maintenance agreements.

· Maintain and evaluate appropriate tools, equipment, spare parts inventories.

· Maintain assigned metrics.

· Operate within the core values of respect and care for others.

Physical Requirements:

· Must stand, walk for prolonged periods of time; climb stairs

· Regularly required to bend, stoop, reach

· Lift in excess of 75 lbs. on an occasional basis

· Exposed to varying temperatures hot/cold

Quality and Hygiene Requirements:

· Comply with all legislated and relevant laws and regulations for safety and quality including lockout tag out, GMP’s, HACCP, Allergen and Blommer specific policies and procedures

· Must wear uniform, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, safety gear specific to work activity, when on plant floor

Performance Expectations:

· Communicate with others to address issues and coordinate work activities

· Operate with a focus on safety and quality, while maintaining a sanitary work setting. Comply with all safety and quality policies and procedures

· Have a thorough understand of each production process and products including components and functions

· Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition

· Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct

· Ensure all metrics and downtime reports are completed

Skills and Work Experience Requirements:

· Five (5) years maintenance experience of which two (2) are in a leadership role

· Employee must be able to accomplish the Essential Duties and Responsibilities to be competent in the job

· Basic use of computer, tablet, scanner, iPad for recording information

· Able to read and write English to review and prepare shipment paperwork/documents

· Able to drive forklift to move product

Education:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Industrial trad certification preferred

$46.00 to $48.00 per hour
