Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall performance of their Homes Alive Pets store, leading a team of approximately 12-18 staff.

The Store

Manager sets the tone for an exceptional guest experience, builds a strong and accountable team, and ensures their store runs efficiently from the sales floor to the back room. You'll spend the bulk of your time with your team and your guests, including coaching team members, jumping in wherever it's needed, and creating an exceptional experience for our guests. 5+ years of management experience in retail, grocery, or restaurant. ~ Valid Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). ~ Homes Alive Pets covers the cost of certification and renewal for active Store Managers. ~ Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is an asset; Excellent time management & organization. Excellent customer service.

Experience managing inventory & merchandising. Deliver an exceptional guest experience in every interaction, and set that standard for your store's culture. Lead, coach, and develop your team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and delegating responsibilities across Assistant Managers, Guest Service Representatives, Receivers, Stockers, and (where applicable) Overnight Stockers.

Drive achievement of store KPIs, including sales targets, labour %, guest experience, and product facing & availability.



Ensure high‐quality presentation of floor inventory, including making sure product is organized and fully stocked. Team Leadership & People Management Conduct performance reviews and wage reviews.

Manage accountability and discipline, including terminations when necessary, in line with company process. Build and maintain a positive, motivated store culture where staff want to grow and do their best work. Record inventory shrinkage and complete write‐off documentation.

Manage customer returns and submit credits to head office. Oversee accuracy of sales tags, signage, and promotions. Oversee warehouse management, including ensuring inventory is organized. Perform annual store inventory reviews.

A Day in the Life of a Store Manager Each day as a Store Manager is agile and unique. A typical day begins with opening the store and checking in with staff to make sure everything is running smoothly. From there, you'll likely spend time reviewing the sales floor, making sure the store is fully stocked and set up to perform.

Throughout the day, you're on the floor supporting guests, answering questions, and helping your team deliver a great experience. You'll also handle staff scheduling, implement marketing and sales plans, coach and train team members, and step in wherever your store needs you most. Full-time (40 hrs/week); Tuesday to Saturday is the standard schedule.

Evening, weekend, and holiday coverage may be required as needed. Training at another store location in another province may be required for 1-3 weeks Quarterly store performance bonus based on achievement of store targets. Dental care Disability insurance Life insurance
