Role Description The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for accurately posting payments, adjustments, and denials from insurance payers and patients into the practice management or billing systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing electronic remittance advices and paper EOBs, reconciling deposits, resolving posting discrepancies, and ensuring that payments are allocated to the correct accounts and service lines. The role involves frequent collaboration with billing, AR follow-up, and client service teams to clarify payment issues, identify trends in denials,



and support timely resolution of outstanding balances.

The specialist is expected to follow established RCM workflows, maintain documentation, and comply with applicable regulations and client-specific protocols.

Qualifications

- Robust knowledge of payment posting processes, including insurance and patient payment workflows.
- Proficiency with practice management or billing software, electronic remittance advice (ERA) systems, and basic Excel or spreadsheet tools.
- Solid understanding of EOBs, adjustments, denials, and reconciliation procedures, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and clients, and the ability to explain payment-related issues clearly.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and handle high-volume payment posting while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Experience in healthcare billing or RCM, particularly in a U.S. healthcare context, is strongly preferred.
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, healthcare administration, or a related field is an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, data security, and compliance with relevant regulations and client policies.
