About the Client
We're seeking a compassionate caregiver for an 87-year-old woman living independently in her bungalow. She recently experienced a stroke that has particularly impacted her vision. She completed outpatient rehabilitation with Bruyere at Home and currently receives 2 hours per week through Ontario Health at Home, but this is insufficient for her needs. She's looking for consistent daily support to help her maintain her independence and quality of life at home.
Responsibilities: Assist with bathing and personal care Prepare nutritious meals Provide medication reminders and assistance with medication management Complete cleaning and laundry tasks Offer memory prompts and gentle redirection for cognitive support Support activities of daily living while respecting her independence Maintain clear communication with family members about care and any changes
What We're Looking For: Experience supporting seniors, particularly those recovering from stroke Understanding of vision impairment and how to provide appropriate support Comfortable with personal care including bathing assistance Ability to take initiative and anticipate needs Reliable, consistent, and punctual Strong communication skills with both client and family Warm,
comforting presence that helps the client feel at ease English speaking Experience with cognitive support and memory prompts preferred
Schedule: Daily visits are needed most days of the week. The family is seeking consistent, reliable care to supplement the limited hours currently provided through public health services. The client's care needs have increased following her stroke, and she requires more hours of support than she's currently receiving.

Pay & Hours
CAD$27.00/hr

Experience with stroke recovery and vision impairment support is essential. The client needs someone who can provide memory prompts and cognitive redirection. The caregiver should be comfortable working with seniors who have experienced recent health changes and require daily consistent support.
