About Us

Prasana Medical Center is a new, calm and clean clinic in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We are committed to providing comprehensive primary care from a collaborative team-based approach. Our clinic includes 3 clinical rooms and 2 procedure rooms for the clinicians, as well as on-site specialists. Velísse Aesthetics & Wellness—a division of Prasana Medical Center—includes 2 treatment rooms is home to our on-site specialists (i.e., Pedorthist, Kinesiologist, Psychotherapist, Medical Esthetician).

We offer a modern, supportive workplace. For EMR, we use ACCURO and Jane.

Position Summary

Prasana Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated Primary Care Assistant to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to physicians and other clinicians, while aiding the overall operations of the clinic. They are expected to perform all administrative and front desk tasks as directed by their supervisor or other authorised senior staff of the organisation. Key Responsibilities

- Training

- Training will commence on the first day of employment.
- The training period will last two (2) weeks.
- At the conclusion of training, the supervisor will assess performance and determine whether full system and operational access is granted or denied.

2. Administrative Responsibilities
- Perform administrative duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Use the EMR system to support patient care administration.
- Book patients for medical examinations and appointments.
- Contact patients to obtain and enter required information into the EMR.
- Fulfill administrative tasks assigned by physicians and other clinicians.
- Complete assigned tasks,



as well as assign or reassign tasks to the appropriate department when required.
- Plan, organise and assist with office supplies, maintenance coordination, security, and medical disposables.

3. Health and Safety
- Conduct oneself in a safe, responsible and professional manner at all times while on clinic premises.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

4. Information Technology and EMR
- Learn and competently use the EMR systems (Accuro and Jane) to perform administrative and organisational tasks.
- Maintain accuracy, confidentiality and compliance in all system usage.

5. Customer Service and Professional Conduct
- Treat all patients, staff and physicians with courtesy, respect and professionalism.
- Maintain a calm and respectful demeanor at all times.

Qualifications

- Education:

- High School diploma (required)
- Graduate of a recognised Medical Office Assistant (MOA) or Health Unit Clerk certificate program (preferred).

- Experience:

- Previous experience in front desk, reception and/or administrative assistant role.
- Prior healthcare experience working in a medical clinic or hospital (strongly preferred).
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software (e.g., Accuro, Jane, etc.) and Manitoba Health billing processes is preferred.
- Customer service background in a fast-paced environment is considered an asset.

- Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, episodic and chronic patient care.

- First Aid and CPR certification considered to be an asset.

Compensation & Benefits

- Compensation: Hourly ($18 per hour)
- Benefits: Additional training in advanced treatment modalities (including laser and microneedling systems), clinical procedure assistance, and leading Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software may be provided.
