Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Reefer Technician role based in Mississauga, ON.

The Reefer

Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigerated trailer units, including performing routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing scheduled preventative maintenance. Daily tasks include using diagnostic tools, replacing parts and components, checking temperature control systems, and ensuring all repairs meet safety and regulatory standards. The role also involves documenting work performed, communicating clearly with service advisors and customers, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The technician is expected to follow company procedures, adhere to health and safety guidelines,



and support the overall efficiency of the service department.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience working on refrigerated trailer units, transport refrigeration systems, or similar commercial equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices, repair techniques, and safe use of tools and equipment in a shop environment.
- Attention to detail in documenting service work, completing repair orders, and following maintenance schedules.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with service team members and supervisors.
- Good communication skills to explain technical issues and repair options clearly and professionally.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to all company, local, and regulatory safety standards.
- Relevant technical training or certification in refrigeration, heavy equipment, or automotive/transport mechanics is an asset.
- Previous experience in trailer or transport service operations, especially with utility or reefer trailers, is preferred.
- Physical ability to perform the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods, lifting components, and working in various weather conditions.
