Research Community Coordinator (Prince Albert)

Join a dynamic and collaborative research team committed to strengthening community wellness through equity-centered and strengths-based approaches. As the Research Community Coordinator, you will work closely with community partners, people with lived experience, researchers, and trainees to support impactful research that explores innovative solutions to challenges such as HIV stigma, substance use, trauma, women's health, and mental wellness among diverse populations. Primary Purpose: The Research Community Coordinator serves as a bridge between the research team and community partners, people with lived and living experience, applying a strong understanding of project goals, Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing, and lived and living experience to support meaningful participation and collaboration. The role works closely with community members to facilitate progress toward research objectives in a culturally appropriate, respectful, and nuanced manner.

Nature of Work: The work location is to be communicated to the research principal investigator. Travel to the community may be required Travel across Saskatchewan communities, especially across Indigenous communities partnering on the grant, collaborating with the PI and respective partners might be required. Workplaces are mainly remote, with scheduled community visits required.

Flexibility on tasks and educational support and training will be provided to ensure the employees’ success. This work requires an understanding of Indigenous communities and each community's research ethics policy, mandates, and expectations, relationship building, and academic research environments.

Typical Duties or Accountabilities: This role involves active participation in team meetings and maintaining regular communication with team members to support alignment with project goals and timelines.

Responsibilities include coordinating and supporting community-led engagement and data collection activities,



as well as assisting with planning and delivery of dissemination events. Additional duties include supporting data analysis, data management, and participant tracking. The position works closely with community leads to ensure engagement activities are conducted in a culturally appropriate, respectful, and effective manner.

Experience: Previous experience in community-based research and working with and within Indigenous communities. Experience in qualitative data analysis, organizing community gatherings, engaging with and mentoring people with lived and living experience as Community Research Associates, and report writing is considered an asset.

Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain respectful relationships with diverse community members and research partners. Demonstrated organizational skills, including coordinating meetings, events, and multiple tasks while meeting timelines. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including regular email communication with team members.

Understanding of community‑engaged research principles and the ability to support culturally appropriate, nuanced data collection and dissemination activities. Capacity to work collaboratively within a research team while also supporting community‑led initiatives with sensitivity, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE,



is $53,091.00 - 82,954.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
